Finding Stillness in the Chaos
Life is busy and for a lot of people, especially those quietly holding everyone else together, it’s more than busy, it’s relentless. a little peace CIC is a Tower Hamlets based non-profit serving unpaid carers and those on a low income built around one belief: that rest, relief, and genuine wellbeing shouldn’t be a luxury reserved for people with time and money to spare.
A Little Peace CIC was founded by Casey Stewart-Smith, massage therapist, researcher, and long-time East Londoner.
Since 2013, Casey has run Revive Massage Therapy in Mile End, offering advanced clinical and holistic massage to clients dealing with pain, stress, and burnout. She holds a BTEC Level 6 Diploma in Advanced Clinical Massage and Sports Therapy — the highest qualification of its kind in the UK and Europe, and has built a practice grounded in evidence, empathy, and genuine results.
But over the years, Casey kept noticing the same thing: the people who needed care most were often the ones least likely to seek it out. Unpaid carers, in particular, the invisible backbone of so many families and communities, were running on empty, with little support and even less recognition.
That observation turned into research. Casey carried out a 16-week project focused on unpaid carers, combining therapeutic treatment with ongoing support. The results were striking: participants saw a 50% reduction in stress levels. That research earned Casey an invitation to present at the 3rd World Congress on Mental Health and Psychiatry in the Netherlands in March 2025.
a little peace CIC is what comes next.
